Honestly, I don't know why I'm surprised anymore. It's always this way. I wake up and have high expectations for the day, and then wham, it's just another day. December birthdays suck. Period.
Also, 29 is so smarmy. 29 is all "it's your last year, enjoy it!" Every day 29 just mocks you. Stupid 29. I already hate you.

I've decided that all birthdays pretty much suck past age 21. Still, I'm sorry you didn't have a happier birthday! *hugs*

I got your card Melissa, and it was a highlight of the day! Along with phone calls and emails from friends, and a lunch with my friend, Brooke.
It's just that work was annoying. I had a dentist appointment, which was no fun and painful. I had an appointment at 5pm with MAC for a little makeover treat for myself, and that was bust. I showed up and the lady "forgot" she had me scheduled and told me I could wait 30 minutes and she'd get to me. Of course I didn't wait because I was pissed. James didn't have any real dinner or surprise plans for me, which pissed me off. He got me flowers but no card (because there was a little note with the flowers). So then we argued about the fact that the free flower card is not an actual card, and he should have bought a damn card. And we argued about his lack of planning every year for my birthday and how it upsets me because I expect him to make my day special. And then I ate tater tots and ice cream for dinner and went to bed. Oh, and I started my period and had awful cramps, which sucks - but also means I'm still not pregnant. Overall it was a pretty shitty day.
Thank you for my Lucy card. I loved it. Ask TyTy, I was like "Melissa let me be Lucy - but for one day only!" :)
30 is awesome. Don't be afraid of it as it lingers in the back of your mind all this year... hehehehe! Happy Birthday! :-)

Christmas bdays are tough..we just did Pete's bday dinner tonight because we had food hangovers on his real bday!
Happy Belated Birthday! And I totally agree that 29 is such a middle ground- 31 is pretty much the same. Are there any highlights left????!!!! Live it up girlie!!!
stacy nichole! i love you bunches! you forgot to mention that my phone call was a highlight...well, you're forgiven in light of the shitty rest of your bday. well-who knows....maybe john will have, oh, i don't know...found a job in/around charlotte and *ahem* proposed by your 30th bday, and i'll just happen to be in your neck of the woods. so i'll take care of you. if not, hell-i'm a teacher, i always have your bday off, i'll come take you out for your 30th anyway :)
